- Having received your payment, you will receive a BCNH Health Programme Questionnaire (HPQ) for you to complete and return to BCNH.
BCNH will then allocate you a student practitioner who will contact you directly to arrange a consultation.
Members of public can book nutrition consultations with Year 4 students, supervised by a Clinical Tutor. The fees are as follows:- £15 - stage 1st consultation (approx. 1 hour) £20 - stage 2 (1.5 hr - 2 hours) £20 - follow-up consultation (approx. 1 hour)
BCNH Good Health Nutrition consultations include diet and lifestyle analysis & nutritional recommendations based on the analysis of your Health Programme Questionnaire (HPQ) and any biochemical or functional tests. The aim is to inform you about your nutritional strengths and weaknesses, so you can take control of your own health and make ‘educated’ choices about your diet and lifestyle.

This stage involves analysis of your completed HPQ. The student practitioner will ask you additional questions about your diet, lifestyle, symptoms, medical history, medications, any supplements that you may be taking, etc. This will help them to research the information and prepare the ‘Consultant Notes’ document in preparation for the stage 2 visit
Before your next visit, the student practitioner will work on various documents in preparation for your next consultation. All work will be checked & approved by a BCNH clinical tutor prior to the stage 2 consultation (hence the 2 weeks waiting time)
At this stage the student practitioner will explain their findings about your main health concerns, such as various contributing factors and their mechanisms. Your dietary and lifestyle strengths and weaknesses will be highlighted and nutritional recommendations prepared in a written report. Biochemical or functional tests may be suggested in addition to a personalised supplement programme to address any nutritional imbalances
Before your follow-up consultation, you will receive an electronic copy of the Client Symptom Sheet, listing all your health concerns and symptoms. You will be asked to evaluate each improvement of symptom/health concern on a scale of 1 - 10. This will help the student practitioner to evaluate your progress.
Your diet, lifestyle and supplement programme will be reviewed and any tests that you may have supplied will be explained. New recommendations will be prepared accordingly. A new report will be emailed to you, following the consultation.

BCNH and student practitioners have an implicit duty to keep all information and records about our clients entirely confidential. No disclosure may be made to any third party, including any member of your own family, without your written consent. In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, clients / patients have the rights to access their own records
At BCNH we treat supplements with respect. To ensure all supplement recommendations are within the Government recommendation limits, BCNH Principal has designed a BCNH Supplement Calculations Sheet showing the information such as UK Recommended Nutrient Intake (RNI) & Safe Upper Limits (SUL). The total value of all the prescribed nutrients is then compared against the government recommendations
At BCNH we always stress that supplements are not a substitute for healthy eating and they must not replace your prescribed medications. If you are taking any prescribed medications we will ask you to consult your GP and seek his/her permission to follow the recommended supplement programme and any other dietary changes. |
